11:26 05-DEC-2000 PCCW (0008-HK) changes its Chinese name

Shareholders of Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW) have approved the proposed company's Chinese name change during an extraordinary general meeting today.

The English name of the company will remain unchanged.

During the meeting, shareholders approved granting Avram Miller share options as part of a consultant fee, to subscribe for about 63.2 million shares at a strike price of $2.356.

Under the agreement, the share options of Miller are of a ten-year term - 10 pct of them are exercisable with immediate effect and the rest of them will be exercisable in the coming nine years.

Apart from the share options, Miller has been paid US$500,000 in two instalments by PCCW for consultant fees.
