Out of curiosity, what will the excuse be once the election is finally over?
Personally, I can't wait until this is done so we can finally focus on what really matters again.
Lot's of capitulation amongst the bulls in all walks tonight. Even if this isn't the end of the election, we all know when it is over, there will be *some* type of rally.
I ask this question. When all is said and done and it is 10 years later, will historians attribute the Naz dropping 25% to this election? I mean think about it for a second. We have 2 possibilities, the vice president of the *greatest* 8 year bull run in history, and the other guy who is actually viewed as *better* by the markets. What will either of these guys do that is so terrible it should cause the Naz to drop 25% in one month?
Well, soon we will be back to focusing on terrible business fundamentals, big cap techs with un-repeatable investment gains, tortured financial statements, a slowing economy, natural gas having a trading halt today after hitting lock limits *UP*, high oil prices, high valuations, etc.
In other words, I think I already know the answer to the question I posed and think many are in for a rude awakening. Will this post-election rally make it one day or one month? Will the rally be 100 Naz points or 1000 Naz points? The question now becomes, when to launch the nuclear short strike?
