Kit, No doubt about the correctness of terming today's action a correction, but I would like to see TTRIF stay around 2 1/2 for a few days--then I would call it a healthy consolidation. Dont recall when it was this morning, but I recall seeing the first "red" downtick on my screen and thinking that i hadn't notice any trades below the previous day's close in over the past 4 trading days. Then the avalanche started. Probably some SOES traders have been attracted to TTRIF because of the volume and volatility, and they will definitely exacerbate any change in direction. If so, the MM may have taken a bath today--and will be anxious to help the price recover to cover their losses. I think the MM fear of SOES "bandits" may be why virtually all the time over the past week the bid and asked has been 5X5 instead of the more usual 10X10. Interesting to speculate, anyway.
