SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Turnstone Systems (Nasdaq: TSTN - news) announced today that InfoHighway Communications Corporation, a leading provider of broadband communications services, will deploy Turnstone's Copper CrossConnect CX100 as the local loop management platform for its digital subscriber line (DSL) services. ``InfoHighway has deployed its first collocation facilities already, and we are turning up additional locations in the coming weeks. The Turnstone solution will help us determine remotely and in advance whether a link to a customer's premises is capable of supporting a particular type of DSL,'' said Tony Howlett, Chief Technology Officer with InfoHighway. ``Our goal is to roll out DSL to our customers as fast as possible and to directly respond to their support and service needs. The Turnstone solution will simultaneously help us increase our customer service levels and limit the need to dispatch our field technicians.''
InfoHighway will also implement Turnstone's CrossWorks(TM) Back Office Automation Software to augment its existing Operational Support System and to automate the physical-layer operational functions enabled by the Copper CrossConnect CX100.
``InfoHighway is growing rapidly in its existing markets and has targeted additional areas of the United States for growth. As InfoHighway expands, our solution will help it do so cost-effectively,'' said Eric Andrews, vice president of marketing with Turnstone. ``The Copper CrossConnect and CrossWorks will also help InfoHighway establish the standard in its service areas for time to market -- one of the most critical competitive differentiators among DSL service providers.''
