News: Norsat Signs Letter Of Intent To Provide End-To-End Two-Way Satellite Broadband Network In China December 05, 2000 09:10:00 AM ET BURNABY, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2000--Norsat International Inc. NSAT(TSE:NII.) today announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with one of China's leading telecommunications service providers to supply an end-to-end satellite broadband network consisting of a SpectraWorks DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) Data Hub, a DVB Return Link Subsystem (RLSS), and one-way and two-way Ku-band Satellite Broadband Terminals. The broadband network, all to be delivered in 2001, is valued at over CDN$25 million. The Norsat satellite network will provide a range of DVB over IP (Internet Protocol) applications including videoconferencing, high-speed Internet and intranet access, and data services. About Norsat Norsat International Inc. designs, engineers and markets premium products for use in the satellite wireless communications industry. It has two principal operating units. Norsat Broadband Networks develops satellite broadband terminals and DVB Data Hubs for the broadband IP market.
