Cisco is not the only upbeat company out there. What we're seeing is a stratification in the market and those companies that are positioned well will continue to be rewarded.

Nokia: 1B users by mid-2002
Subscribers growing ahead of schedule,
Finnish firm has 30% share
December 5, 2000: 9:50 a.m. ET

LONDON (CNNfn) - Finland's Nokia Oyj cheered weary technology investors
Tuesday, saying 1 billion people, or just under a fifth of the world population,
will own a cellular handset by the middle of 2002, six months ahead of its
previous estimate.

It's clear that some sectors (PC's, circuit switching, and soon SONET/SDH) will not fair as well. Of course the SONET/SDH issue will become troubling because most folks already have a hard time discerning different sectors of technology.. next they'll be asked to discern sub-segments of the optical market... They won't get it I don't believe. Still, optics and wireless will continue to drive demand for infrastructure products for the foreseeable future. Technology is not going away and infrastructure top line is growing much faster than just about any sector our there. The recent sell-off has these companies reasonably valued with a few exceptions.
