You need to be politically alive to be able to fight another day (tough or not). That is how continuing to fight past a certain point is disadvantageous. What this board is trying to say is that that point is likely different for Gore vs the rest of the Democratic party. You can bet that there is continuous polling going on at this time in order to make sure that when that point is reached, the Democrats +/- Gore will quit. Apparent;y that time has not arrived yet, but published polls show that it is coming (in terms of approval ratings).
