i called to check a few hours ago and was told he'd be there. but, i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show. a few years ago, i arranged for a dinner with mario cuomo. he made clear we had to have a back up as he was a very busy, important man and something could come up to prevent his attendance. then, he insisted there be an extremely abbreviated cocktail party and that he speak before dinner and that he wouldn't be able to stay for dinner. he had dinner, dessert, coffee and the club had to throw us out as we way overstayed. he likes to think of himself as an attorney and enjoyed being with a group of attorneys.
