Yeah, I know, bill...Clinton led us for eight years of pure hell...from 290 billion deficit to 250 billion surplus, 7% unemployment to 4%, mortgage rates that were 10 down to current levels of high 7s(which are relatively high compared to most of his term).

God, how did we survive him? I am sure W will improve on those numbers.

And consider this my response to the obligatory comments that will spew re: He doesn't deserve any of the credit.

Reagan defined the standard in 1980...whomever's watch the good or bad occurs, gets the credit or the blame...them's the rules.

Greenspan is the architect but Clinton was the first President who embraced Greenspan's model. Ask Bob Woodward, he jliterally wrote THE definitive book on Greenspan.
