Bread making ...
I love home-made bread. I don't make it much any more, and those machines are tempting. A couple of sisters have them and I'm waiting to see if they continue using them or they become just one more dust catcher filling kitchen cupboards.
One thing I've learned about kneading bread: No matter how tempting to do otherwise, knead with one hand. That way, the other hand isn't covered in dough when it's needed: And it's always needed for something. Now, how do I form loaves with one hand?
I like the mixture of smells when the hot bread gets a coat of butter. When I log off tonight, I'll eat!
Cheers, PW.
P.S. Now that Christmas is approaching, I'm looking forward to the kitchen filled with the smells of turkey in the oven. I enjoy Christmas meals, turkey, cranberry, gravy, and stuffing. I could do without the clean-up though.
P.P.S. Truth be known, I'm trying to lose weight. (Lost 15 pounds, gained some crankiness.) I'll be making a salad tonight. A BIG one. |
