NETA

Dan,

Unfortunately, I broke several rules with NETA today. First was forgetting how old a cat it is:

The 4/20/99 low makes it a double-gapping Estecat, which I know to be pernicious, lasting beasts.
Second rule broken was buying a cat on a day when I couldn't monitor it; I checked in for quotes at the end of day, and found myself at a paper-loss of 15% while the rest of the Naz had its greatest day of all time.
But today was a near-signal, volume was huge, the damage was caused by a mere 325K bailout at 1:20

and it did drop two anchors in the last 90 minutes and then bounced up toward the close, creating, hopefully, the moorings of an uptrend. The failure to maintain the bounce means it'll probably be buyable in the low $11s/high $10s tomorrow morning.
I would guess the damage is done. I doubt the holders of 4/20/99 are waiting for it to break that day's low—just so they could panic 18 months later and create a new Exhaustion Bottom. Then again, this is rather virgin territory—even for un vieux chat-homme comme moi.
And to think I meant to buy INTC this morning. F me for a D.

Ivan

PS: AAPL's going to regap tomorrow morning.
