From what I gathered, CMGI has sold their stake in lycos and maybe even yahoo in the last two months. They are sitting on plenty of cash as you said and I read that they are investing in wireless. Hope they do well in their wireless investments. All they need is two or three hits like geocities and lycos in their B2C ventures. The current known investments with prospects are navisite and ubid.
