yes, win2000pro is great. i loaded a new monitor driver today that corrected a funky flashing thing. it was a challenge just finding a place to put the darn driver on the hd. there was no other dell folder so i created one. but i still need a better driver or something, because i have minor display probs that are not present with the same monitor on w98se. but i'll solve it all eventually.
man, that is incredible, a 4 hour download for norton utilities. sure hope you don't run into any probs and have to uninstall/reinstall!!

so was it aol5.0 that was causing probs all along? i thought it was aol6.0 that you were loading (sorry, i should go back and reread). i'd like to move to 6.0 (still running 4.0 on my other os), but i use aol so infrequently. mostly i like the versatility of all the added email addresses, and the IM, which we can get with netscape if we really want it.
anyway, i'm glad that there is a happy ending to this story. i bet you put in some long hours for your friends!
