Is it any wonder - viewers jumping ship from liberal CNN to fair and balanced FOXNEWS. If you haven't done so yet, I would highly suggest you do. Fox is the only one who was reporting SEVERAL days ago about Gore being behind the Seminole suit - with the details, about Boies wanting to try Seminole himself, etc, etc. There is no comparison based on my viewing - you can hve the liberal apologists on CNN or a more balanced approach on FOX - read the article:
------------- FOX Continues to Shatter CNN; Network Plans Major Revamp
The high-flying Fox TV network walked away with the top spot in the TV ratings game, winning week four of the new fall season.
The upstart network's cable Fox News Channel (FNC) has also scored a tie with CNN in the October ratings.
On the main Fox network, audience grabbers such as baseball’s World Series and hit series such as "Ally McBeal" and "Boston Public" helped send the network to the top of the list, according to Nielson Media Research.
Fox scored tops in total viewers, among adults in the 18-43 age brackets, and in all the key male categories.
Both CBS and ABC lagged far behind Fox, but NBC got the biggest audience of the week - 28.6 viewers with its one-hour premier of "Frasier."
Perhaps the most tumultuous news is how the Fox News Channel has shaken the CNN behemoth to its foundations.
In October, Fox News tied CNN in the ratings, according to Nielson.
Both Fox News Channel and CNN scored ratings of .09 for prime time and .04 for the full broadcasting day despite CNN’s advantage of having more viewers as the result of being carried in more markets.
According to Broadcasting and Cable, a .09 rating for CNN signifies an audience of 542,000 households, but only 482,000 for Fox News with its smaller number of markets.
But Fox’s standings have shot up an amazing 163 percent over last year's, while CNN’s increase was a mere 24 percent.
The numbers have already caused a major shake-up at the liberal-leaning CNN. Lincoln Bedroom visitor and head of CNN's news division Rick Kaplan was let go earlier this year as Fox News' numbers began to show CNN was moving downhill.
Broadcasting & Cable magazine reported last week that CNN is considering a major new format revamp and replacing shows like "The World Today" with personality-driven programs with "the likes of Greta Van Susteren and Jeff Greenfield."
CNN's changes won't be implemented until after the election mess is settled.
It's doubtful, though, the network will be able to put in place shows anytime soon to compete with Fox hits like "The O'Reilly Factor," "Hannity & Colmes" and "The Edge with Paula Zahn." |
