Your reference confirms that the military absentee ballot issue was but one prong of the GOPwinger PR strategy against Gore. What the GOPwinger PR strategy failed to consider was Florida's clampdown on absentee ballots largely from the fraudlent absentee ballots discovered in the '97 mayoral race. The aftermath of that election made virtually every county canvassing board paranoid over accepting absentee ballots. It had nothing to do with Gore's campaign, as the GOPside has alleged. Indeed, the military absentee ballot controversy is just a followup from the GOPwinger pundits who get on television complaining about recount after recount after recount when in fact Gore requested only one recount in four counties only. Me? I don't trust GOPwinger PR. Never did and never will.
