Amy, RE: Both camps (i.e. the spokesperson for each Party) used derogatory interpretations to the other Party's position. They could have taken the high road and stated their positions without the attacks. Unfortunately, negative comments leave a longer impression since it takes 7 positive comments to counter one negative comment. This could be why politicians use negative statements.

I would disagree, at least in the current context.

The reason both parties have resorted to consistently negative attacks is because they cannot think about something positive to say about themselves.

Heck, look at the partisan posts on this thread. None talk about what a wonderful candidate they support. Instead, we hear about the dirtbag that the other side supports.
