Pat,

Excellent stories....an absolute must read...and read all the related
stories about Microsoft, PC 98, ...juts incredible.

A couple of observations. Amati's ADSL for cable (that JW talked about)
kept creeping into my thoughts when I was reading. Secondly, the
ADSL GTE/Microsoft trials take on a "whole new meaning" after
reading this.

Too early for Microsoft to be in Amati's booth for Supercomm...but
it may not be too early for others...Compaq's plans to sell a
million PC TV's by this time next year has my attention. PacBell
trialing TV service over the same cable line that provides phone
& internet service...66 channels for $28.95/mo...those lucky dogs.

Where is it all going.........? Everyone is trialing everything,
wireless, cable, copper. They have one thing in common..fatter pipes.
I like Amati's position.
