PNG: Exxon may run pipeline
The Australian Financial Review, December 6
BY BRUCE HEXTALL

Late in 2000, ExxonMobil is expected to take control of the Papua New Guinea to Queensland pipeline project. Exxon is expected to take control of the $US3.5bn gas project from United States-based Chevron, courtesy of its existing 30 per cent stake. Once the project moves to the development stage, Exxon is likely to take control from Chevron, which itself holds a nine per cent stake.
