One of the results of the end of the cold war is that the US DLS is selling off its "surplus". That the US government selling accounts for 8% or so of the total world production is interesting in and of itself. How much more to go? What will happen when they stop?

Nico is a large gold deposit, excluding all other metals. One could view that as both the good news and the bad news. The current thought is that Nico fits a class of deposit that includes the Olympic Dam deposit among others. There is room for some an increase in size, and other deposits on their property. The mineralization is not very obvious to someone who isn't experienced at Nico. Many other geologists and prospectors had walked over Nico and not seen it. It is not unreasonable to expect more discoveries over the next few years, all of which improve the economics of Nico.

I think Fortune has done a pretty good job advancing the property. Perhaps the stock was too high at one point, but similarly it can be said that it is reasonable to assume that it has been too low at other times. One can assume some sort of regression about the mean as information becomes more available. (I understand that the Elliot Wave Theory works something like this, using numerical models).

Anyway, let's see where Robin takes this.
