My response to the seac/comcast news is that the news is incomplete. Company A gives company B money and a master contract (whatever that means). What does company B give up for this? Where's the exchange of value in this event?

I also want to add my 2 cents about digital set top box utilization and vod deployment. I think to some extent the mso cart has come before the horse. I am probably a prime example of many who have no interest in adding the expense of digital boxes to my monthly bill until a service is offered for which the additional benefit justifies the expense. When vod is available to me, I'll be the first in line to upgrade my cable boxes. Can you imagine the mso's trying to sell cable modems without broadband? While I understand that there are benefits other than vod that a digital box brings, none of them compares with vod.
