Because it has not a 3G capacity and the speed is dismal at 152kbs/sec, even in a laboratory. God knows what it is going to be in a commercial application, less than 100 kbs/sec in any case. And what are the 2.5G speeds with GSM? GPRS is 100kbs/sec (170 kbs/sec in a lab) and EDGE 300kbs/sec. These are the reasons for AT&T "capitulation". Although I don´t understand where the term "capitulation" comes from, since everyone and everyone´s uncle, Auntie Frank and even Diamondhead´s gassy auntie know that TDMA´s development path is also to EDGE to WCDMA. - rajala
