Dataram Announces Availability of DDR SDRAM DIMM Modules
High-Bandwidth Modules Designed to Meet the Requirements of Next Generation Servers
PRINCETON, NJ--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2000--Dataram Corporation (NASDAQ: DRAM - news) a leading provider of gigabyte-class memory for high-performance network servers, today announced the shipment of Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM DIMM modules. Immediately available are registered and unbuffered modules, with capacities of 128MB and 256MB. Higher-density 512MB and 1GB module designs have been completed, and will be available for sampling in early Q1 2001.
Dataram's new DDR SDRAM DIMM modules provide a ``doubling'' of memory bandwidth over the current generation PC133 SDRAM modules, with reduced power consumption. The new DDR chip architecture accomplishes this speed improvement by utilizing both edges of the memory clock for sending and receiving data.
``Our unbuffered modules have a maximum height of only 1.25-inch, making them ideal for low-profile applications such as 1U servers. System manufacturers have chosen DDR memory as a cost-effective solution to boost performance in their next generation workstations and servers,'' stated Jay Litus, Dataram's vice president of business development.
All Dataram DDR SDRAM modules are designed and tested for full compliance with PC2100 and PC2600 JEDEC specifications and utilize standard 184-pin DIMM packaging with gold contacts.
