Intel drops but news not new
--1:18 pm - By Susan Lerner
Intel shares tumble $3.25, or 9 percent, to $32.75 after Salomon Smith Barney analyst Jonathan Joseph told clients that all input suggests the company's (INTC: news, msgs) fourth-quarter is "shaping up to be its worst quarter in over a decade." The remarks were not new, however, since it was a rehash of Joseph's comments from Nov. 30 when he lowered his revenue and earnings estimates for the chipmaker on weakening consumer demand. Joseph's recommendation on Intel shares is still "outperform."
