One of the Great GOP Myths of this board is that the Republican Party somehow stands for the common working man. That is complete hogwash. Nothing could be further from the truth.

It is ridiculous to presume that the Republican Party represents the common working man. Republicans support an agenda that seeks to further the interests of Big Business at the expense of the common working man. Democrats, on the other hand, put the individual worker first.

If the Republicans wish to avoid a repeat of Nov. 7 vis-a-vis union involvement in the election process, they would be advised to become more "worker friendly."

But that is not going to happen as long as the Republican Party is dominated by congressmen beholden to the interests of Big Business.

In the last presidential election:

Big Business campaign spending: 95%

Organized labor campaign spending: 5%
