Don, Buffalo Tech's 802.11b While interesting, there are many other 802.11b chipset providers already out there. This thing is only 11Mbit/s wireless over 2.4GHz. D-Link and lucent's orinoco have had the 802.11b solutions working and selling for at least 3 months. I got my access point and pc-cards from D-Link two months ago. I can't wait for the summer when I can bring my notebook out to the pool in the back and read SI while floating on that big rubber tube. The real fun though, starts with the 802.11a which is coming soon and has 54Mbit/s over 5GHz (a relatively clean spectrum, unlike 2.4GHz). Rambus and intel's ability to design chipsets. Well,..., rmbs has been able to build the best on paper designs for many years now. When you look at on paper designs and neat smart ideas on paper and back of the envelope calculations (on paper), I think they easily put most engineers to shame. However, when moving from paper to silicon, something always pops up to make everyone's lives difficult. I pity the fool who has to build and debug the 1st gen of any rmbs's on paper design (vbg).
