Hi Ken & all - as I ve maintained all along, the carriers will have to continue build out to secure their positions. The key is to leverage their investments as much as possible, i.e., best cost/performing leading edge systems are the core. They know that this is actually their window of oppty when the CLECs are losing steam due funding problems. Whoever who can provide the best performing systems [which are at the same time most reliable] will have the 1st mover advantage, and set the standard. I continue to think NT has what it takes to do that, be it wireless or optical systems. She has assembled a lot of technology assets and she can turn them around for real world applications. However, the most important aspect is human capital retention. Like the article I posted a while back with the founders of Aptis, that is the key to keep the edge.

From the angle, looking at wireless or optical really misses the big picture. The big picture is that this is a dynamic company capable of doing anything she sets her mind to it [cf Clarify] Therefore, as long as she has that attitude, she will find opportunities to exploit!

best, Bosco
