SpectraLink to Work Together with Lucent Technologies' ORiNOCO Team
to Provide Voice and Data Over 802.11b Wireless LANs

BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectraLink Corporation (Nasdaq: SLNK - news), the leading manufacturer and supplier of workplace wireless
telephone systems, today announced that it is working with Lucent Technologies' ORiNOCO group to provide software support for SpectraLink's
NetLink Wireless Telephone System(TM) (NetLink WTS).

The integration of SpectraLink's and Lucent's wireless LAN technologies will enable enterprises to build high-speed wireless networks that deliver
both voice and data to the end user. SpectraLink's NetLink WTS product is based on its SpectraLink Voice Priority (SVP) technology, which is fully
compatible with the 802.11b standard for data transmission used by ORiNOCO. SVP prioritizes voice IP packets with minimal impact on throughput for
data services and helps deliver excellent voice quality on converged wireless networks.

``Customers will no longer need to have two separate communications systems,'' said Jan Haagh, Enterprise product manager for Lucent Technologies
ORiNOCO. ``By supporting SpectraLink's SVP technology with our ORiNOCO system we make it possible to carry both voice and data applications over
a single wireless network.''

``Lucent's support for SVP is a major milestone in meeting the global market demand for wireless voice and data convergence within the enterprise,''
said Mike Cronin, SpectraLink's vice president of sales and marketing. ``An added benefit is that several of SpectraLink's wireless LAN partners
already use Lucent's ORiNOCO products, making it easy for them to provide this new wireless voice-over-IP solution to their customers.''

Product Overview

Combining voice-over-IP and wireless LAN technologies, the NetLink WTS allows on-site mobile workers to place and receive telephone calls over a
shared wireless infrastructure. The NetLink WTS is the industry's first IEEE 802.11b compatible workplace wireless telephone system that delivers
a combination of outstanding voice quality, desktop telephone features, and durable handset design. Compliance with the IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN
standard enables businesses to leverage their new or existing wireless LAN infrastructure by adding high quality voice communications. In addition, the
system allows enterprises to deploy and manage voice and data over a single wireless backbone.
