david-- yeah, my thoughts exactly. my biggest problem is that until '99, the DVD format is read only. what am i supposed to do, save to floppies? i call the guy to get his hot stock tips. they are usually excellent shorts. smithbarney--they make money the old fashioned way, they steal it from clients. on the DAT thing, copyright protection is so stupid anyway. people are goign to find ways around it anyway, and besides copying is never as big a threat as the software and entertainement industries make out. my father has a DAT deck he bought from J&R a few years ago. it doesnt have copy protection. he doesnt spend countless hours pirating with it, and in fact he uses it rarely. the only reason he bought that particular model was that it did not have the copy protection. he hates limitations.i think a lot of people are like that. good luck to all, trey
