We would never have given him the opportunity to do that. We played it cool and watched his internal struggle with poorly concealed amusement.

This year I was served shrimp fried whole, to be eaten unpeeled, crunch crunch, and 100 year old eggs, blech. I divide it up into equal portions and ate it with my vegetables. When my lovely hostess noticed I had eaten them all, she... gave me more!!!! Lesson: Always leave some on the plate.
