My brokerage house : ABN AMRO has just placed Nvls on a 50% margin basis.I'm livid.

Don't get me wrong,I'll pay cash for the stock and take delivery of it,deposit it in a real brokerage house and move my account.

I've been with a fine broker for too long and this is the straw that broke the camel's back. I should have gone electronic long ago.

I'm absolutely miffed at this in the middle of the stream switch. Does it happen elsewhere or is this just B.S. resulting from Dane Rauscher buying the house in January.

Anybody out there have a good house with a margin dept that doesn't switch policies mid-stream on what IMHO is a rock of a comp.???

All experiences are greatly appreciated.

I have what could only be called a large account that is leveraged with margin and offset by a greater cash account.

I'm looking for an electronic brokerage account that will not change margin policies mid stream to an account that generates interest income(on margin) and commissions that exceeds a lot of money.
Any recommendations will be pursued and appreciated.

I'm Miffed and I'm not going to take it anymore !!!!!

P.S. thinking: Datek, Ameritrade, or dlj-direct my buddy just went thru the same crap with E-trade - they're out too.

I'm thinknig this is a new bottom indicator - seriously!!!
