Bruce:

Good and instructive comments on the Internet 4 Horsemen.

before we make comments that the business models of these 'big 4' are utter BS

Since you posted to me, let me just point out that I never said their business model was utter BS. What I said was, "misses out on the Godzilla BS, which was never substantiated by Moore, and which we sniffed out as BS (sort of like a hardback book, with nothing between the covers)."

What was intended was not a disparaging of the companies, but a disparaging of Moore's explanation, or substantiation of his theories about Godzillas. My complaint isn't with the companies or their business models, or network effects, or with their potential future. It's with Moore pumping the Godzilla theory, without thinking it thru adequately, or to a similar degree as with the Gorilla/King notion.

I agree with CUF that he threw in a Godzilla chapter with a direct aim of "cashing" in on the trend, and with less of a clear view on what a Godzilla really is, or what an investor should expect. I think Moore undermined his credibility somewhat in doing so. I also think his documented loose use of the terms this past year also has undermined his credibility. But I am nevertheless thankful for his well thought out original FMs.

If nothing else, we learned a lot from your post, and we now know what you look like when you "jump out of your tights". All I can say at this sight is, "Egads, Sir Lyre; please tuck away your lance, and please don't poke me with it". <g>
