Hay, I just caught up on that trash!!! I'm over this election thing.yada yada yada Greenie just said it like it is.Soft landing is just a hope - it will be much harder. I won't be surprised to see rates get cut yesterday. There are some GM dealers who have leased 2-3 extra lots just to store bloated inventory.The orders have been shut off and it will take a minimum of march to work down a day supply "channel stuffing" that exceeds 180 day supply. The refusal to acknowledge a slowing market by management(in an effort to earn a bonus for the year) will shut down many plants and increase the unemployment numbers. Chrysler has been quicker to work down their inventory and it cost them 400-500 million and then they shut down production. GM has ignored the writing on the wall and has even bigger problems. Rates have turned - just not many people know it.The treasuries have signaled it for some time already. Labor pressure is off and rates have turned.The bottoming action is going on and when wallstreet discounts the future recovery is still of question. I think anyone short is being greedy - but then I'm no short novice let alone expert/guru. GZ's got it right.IMHO Get long and ride it out. 2001 will be a recovery year. Bob
