As I recall, people here predicted that MSFT would have a market cap of a trillion dollars by now. Its performance has fallen far short of that aspiration. As an important component of both the NASDAQ and DOW, Microsoft has also contributed mightily to the malaise in the rest of the market. I don't think it's out of line to point that out. JMHO.
