If Jesus' disciples stole his dead body, why would they die for a "TRUTH" that they would have known to be a lie? The "spiriting" away of Jesus body was just the first attempt in removing the helenistic influences that were becoming dominant in Jerusalem. It didn't work. If it were not for Paul (Saul) picking up the pieces of the legend and story it would have all been forgotten. Paul was able to combine the rumours of the event with the hysteria of the pending Jewish revolt to make a memorable story. TP
