"More than 17 million customers signed up for mobile phone service in the Asia/Pacific region during the second quarter of 2000, despite signs of slowdown in some key markets"

slacker- Thanks for the stats. They are mind blowing. No wonder Nokia recently upped their handset figures and Motorola, in spite of blowing this quarter(Q400), never said anything about slowing handset sales.

"The growth of pre-paid services and intense competition in markets like Hong Kong and South Korea have soaked up large numbers of lower-yield subscribers during the past year..."

elmatador- If you are reading this, isn't this what you mentioned was showing strong growth in Europe too? If so, how does it work again? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
