Frank, I think I now understand your ruff and tumble reaction to my price targets for NTAP and the like. You look out 5 years or so and apparently do not worry about short term price movements. So when some upstart like me starts suggesting a stock is overpriced, you wince.

Well, I dunno. See your point...but the a proper entry point can do wonders for one's portfolio. Specifically it appears as if an entry point for stock X is around 9 bucks in one portfolio and another is around 14 bucks, one would think the first portfolio would show significant gains over the second, no? The same goes for NTAP. I don't know what price you felt was appropriate for the stock, but it seems to me an entry at in the sub $50 range was preferable to a $100 price...which as you know I felt was extremely overpriced. We are talking a 100% difference Frank.

I know what the ltb&h thing means but I also feel it is important to learn from our experience with QCOM this past year. Having live through that and follow down the likes of NTAP, PMCS, BRCM or AMCC (companies I follow and admire)...watching one's portfolio get creamed AGAIN in the same year...well...I think it prudent to consider planning exit strategies.

This would be a good discussion topic here since many of us have had our heads handed to us and need to benefit from the experience.

From my perspective I plan on selling some QCOM in the $120's in my trading account on the way up and will be very vigilant if we get overpriced like last year again.

Rick
