Let me take another crack at lawdog's grocery store analogy.

Gore is a clerk in a grocery store. A customer enters the store, doesn't find anything he likes and leaves. Gore calls the police, says he's been robbed. Police ask what the man took. Gore says he doesn't know. Police ask what makes you think you've been robbed?

Gore replies that the store has a sales quota of $250,000 for the month and they came up $5000 short of that goal. Gore says he KNOWS his store made the quota so the man must have stolen $5000 worth of merchandise. Asks police to go out on the street and take $100 from the next 50 people that come by the store to make him whole.

Police call psyche ward, schedule pickup.

In all fairness, good analogies are rare and on this board just another spin move to the basket
