Cogeneration is really starting to catch up in North America. Our hospital is planning to build a 6MW cogeneration plant using natural gas driven engines.
Large coal burning stations have an efficiency of 32-38%
not including distribution losses. Cogeneration plants
are typically more than 80% efficiant.
