First of all, Srexley, you didn't answer either question Number One or question Number two. I'd appreciate it if you would. Meanwhile, I'll respnod to what you wrote:

>>>PT, Gore chose a technicality of FL laws to selectively hand count votes in areas that were heavily democratic.<<<

Where on earth did you get the idea that county-selective hand recounts is a technicality of Florida law. Many of you have made fun of "Whooper Al," but I assure you, what you just wrote is a "whooper!"

>>>GWB was leading and chose the honorable position of not
re-counting heavily republican areas.<<<

That's not Gore's fault. Is it?

>>>You can lampoon GWB's position (as Boise did to
the FL SC), but I think it is hard to argue that it was an unreasonable decision just
because Gore chose to do the handcount. This is the 1st punch I speak about, BUT I
must point out that I do no hold this against Gore. I probably would have done it (if in
Gore's shoes) because the election was so damn close.<<<

First punch was when Bush went to federal court.

>>> This is where I get frustrated at the attacks on GWB. After choosing to take advantage
of a loophole that allowed for an unfair advantage to the democrats the Gore camp
would not abide by the rule that says you must be done within a week. Fair enough, they
got the liberal FL SC to extend the deadline by 12 days. Still could not get enough votes
via the mechanisms allowed in FL statute and the extended deadline offered by the FL
SC. They feel that because they had an original right to a selective recount that they don't
have to live by any deadlines AND that the standards for counting these votes should be
the most liberal standards imaginable. So liberal that they will SUE the panel of people
(all demos in P-B, 2 out of 3 in M-D) that are charged with performing this process. In
other words, highly paid and highly partisan (through the represntation of their clients)
lawyers should set the standards, not the bodies that are put in place to actually do this.
And without showing ANY evidence that the canvassing boards did anything wrong.<<<

Me thinks you ought to back and check, thoroughly, the record.

>>> I could go on and on, but I think you will see that even the VERY LIBERAL (imo) FL
SC will side with GWB. Gore started the fight, GWB will finish it and become the
President of the United States.<<<

Maybe. Maybe not.

>>> Sorry, but that is the way it will be. And it will be fair, regardless of the next avenue Gore
will pursue after this proclaimed last resort.<<<

I've seen very little in Florida that I would consider fair.
