It is entirely possible that if MC and CPQ makes comments about earnings 6 weeks in advance, that they have chance to loose the credibility. This is a volatile market. We don't know what will happen in next few weeks with PC sales, server sales, election, Euro, etc.. All of these will have consequence to the earnings.

If CPQ knows that they will not meet their numbers and will come SIGNIFICANTLY short of investor's expectations, then I believe they should come out right away and announce it.

We need to wait until the president is inaugurated and wait for CPQ's earnings. Hopefully, by then, correction will be over and will have a somewhat stable mkt.
