I never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the drawer <gg>. That's why I concluded my post with "jmho", and waited for responses.

Judith, investigation of the network effect (which, as Merlin has pointed out, may be a concept that overlaps the "value chain" metric outlined in tfm) is certainly worthy, but imho it would be more appropriate on the G&K thread if that analysis focused on its significance to Gorilla or King companies.
