What is happening with Cisco's wireless plans?

They have spent close to 1 billion US$ buying Clarity last year, and Radiata this year.... but no real wireless sales have happened yet.

Now they are "involved" in the Wi-LAN - Radiata patents lawsuit??? (looks like their acquisition of Radiata triggered the suit - based on timing).

If wireless is the future for the last mile it is reasonable to expect some very hard questions coming from large fund managers over the next couple of quarters.

Cisco is big and a billion may be small potatoes to them in the grand scheme of things, but on hte whole it does look like they are in need of a plan that is better than "acquire , acquire, acquire".

"learn, learn, acquire" might be better :-) .

This Ziff Davis article indicates that the first part of that billion spent last year is not going to realize yield until 2002 (see bottom of article 2nd last paragraph about V-ofdm - that was the clarity acquisition).
