It's Holiday Time -- Do You Know Where Your Amazon Order Is?

Could I be the only one who has received books way late from Amazon (AMZN:Nasdaq - news - boards)? I am not even short the darned thing, but I haven't received my last order and it has been two weeks. Thought they were in stock. I wasn't going to say anything, but I just got this note. So I am passing it on to the site:

Jim,
I am noticing some things at Amazon that I don't like. Do you view these as being good or bad for business?

1: There is very little in stock. This is especially true in their electronics department.

2: Even when it's labeled as being "in stock," many times it isn't. I just ordered six items. Five were listed as "In Stock/24 hr ship." That was Sunday. So far, the only item to ship was the one that said "2-3 days," and that went out on Monday. A couple of the items were best-selling books and DVDs. This is disturbing.

3: Ship times are taking much longer. Amazon was always reliable for immediate shipments, and it was a reason I used them. Lately, it is a crapshoot. I have already cancelled one big order, and am now hesitant to do further business. I am a longtime, faithful customer too. It is just about the only place online I fully trust.

I know you are also an Amazon user. Have you had similar issues?
