what the hell does qcom have to do with intel.

The economy. You can point at Gateway and say "it's a PC problem" you can point at Nokia and say "it's a 3G problem" you can point at Ford and say "it's a competition problem" you can point at decreasing housing starts and say "it's an empty-nester problem" and on and on and on until you've rationalized away every difficulty.

But if you have to point at all those things at the same time a simpler explanation is that the economy has run into a little trouble. And that's bad for everyone.
