What is special about IBM is it’s an acronym for International Business Machines The reasoning is circular, but I think you know that, LOL. If it will German, it would be KVK, "Komputer vill kill" <g>. Yes, I think trigram has to be acceptable. But this is a subjective judgement. Is the criterion pronouceability? Does it need a vowel? The 263-to-1 odds ration refers to the odds of choosing a subjectively defined "acceptable" combination from all possibilities, it does not refer to the probability of the specific HAL combo.
