In order to justify a runoff, we need a viable third party. That's why I urged so many voters in California to vote for Nader. Him getting 5% would have changed our political landscape. It would have made his views, which are some of the best and well thought out, relevant today. But unfortunately, none of those goals were met. Yet, does that make all of this insignificant? I felt better knowing that I had supported Nader than I would have for Gore.
Nader is a Lebanese American, a son of an immigrant family. Much like Clinton, he overcame early obstacles in life to achieve a great deal of success. Often, its those who rise above a level of irrelevance that have the most to offer.
Gore, who is a very well educated politician, has had his road to the Presidency carved out for him. As a minority, I laugh at white people who talk of racism as if they're experienced it first hand. Much like Gore, who talks of sharing the wealth without making any sort of sacrafice himself.
