grin if only you knew me in my teenage years. I grew up in India -- where the intellectuals are socialists, the govt and policies are basically socialist (tho it is really just an anarchy!) -- I was the only laissez-fair capitalist around. It was fun -- I was a pain in social studies classes! It was when I came to the US that I became a liberal -- I have still not understood how the conservatives got aligned with the religious right and that is what made me start identifying with the more responsible democrats. I'd still vote for a Republican candidate who manages to get away from the religious right, is pro-choice and anti-gun lobby over most democrats. -A
