[MSFT and others. . .] Bob -- Here's what my learned friend wrote when he sent those URLs. <<<Back in Feb sometime, MSFT licensed FORE's ATM emulation. This is repeated in this MSFT/Forethought press release. . . . Tac was very well aware of this and its impact. . . . In a speech end of Feb Gates said "ADSL we do a lot to foster it, we licensed ATM emulation for them". This knocks the air out of USRX when they say that they will have a ethernet/ADSL combo card by then....By then most of ADSL hook ups will use ATM. I expect to see a switch (no pun intended) to ATM at the workgroup level since ATM by will become ubiquitous.>>> I can't speak to ethernet versus ATM. It's beyond my ken, as the Scots say.
