Where's Eric Wells?
I'm here. I actually bought several stocks last week, including MSFT, INTC, SUNW, AOL, GE and WCOM - MSFT and INTC are both down, SUNW is up, AOL and GE up a little, WCOM flat - in total, I'm down about 2% (I wasn't expecting the severe decline in MSFT). Personally, I think with the muted response to Intel's warning this afternoon that we'll see a rally tomorrow. If the election mess gets resolved, we may head back to 3000 - if Bush wins, I think MSFT will rebound back to the 70 range. I'm most likely holding for the long term now. Don't have time to trade per se - while a cap spending slow down may be hurting the big consulting firms (especially companies like Scient, Razorfish, Sapient, etc.), my business is doing well.
What can I say about the current market? I can look back on the market of 1999 and 1998 and say confidently that it was, indeed, too good to be true - and I sure wish that I had held many of my short positions (BRCM, ICGE, CMGI, YHOO, RHAT - it pains me to think about the money left on the table).
