Mr. GJ - Regarding LONG-TERM CAPITAL GAINS a taxed at 20%, I certainly would agree with your point. BUT not for SHORT-TERMS GAINS which are taxed at higher rates.

The current QQQ trade is being tailored as a short-term trade which hopefully(?) will be taxed at short-term gain rates if it attains profitability. My point is it is better to pay short-term capital gain taxes than offset losses because a trade did not work out. We would all prefer to pay more in taxes short or long-term because of winning trades than have offsetting trades.
